A Hunan kitchen on Beach Road海滨路上的湘菜馆
Xiangxi is the mountainous west of Hunan, where food is smoked, pickled and fired with chillies to see a family through the winter. At Ming Xuan that cooking comes to City Gate: sour long beans, smoked pork, chopped chillies, and the rice bowls Hunan calls 盖码饭.
Our kitchen is led by a chef from Hunan who cooks every plate to order. Tell us how hot you like it and we will adjust it, without losing what makes it Hunan.

Three things we will not change三个不变

No pre-made dishes没有预制菜
Nothing arrives in a bag to be reheated. Every plate is cut, seasoned and wok-fired when you order it.

Fresh from the market新鲜食材
Meat and vegetables are bought fresh every day from local markets, and the rice is a good grade our regulars notice.

Seasoned from Hunan湘味调料
Chopped chillies, dried goods and pickles are brought in from China, because the taste of Hunan starts in the jar.
“The behind-the-scenes effort to recreate the true taste of Hunan here in Singapore is genuinely impressive.”Yong Kit H. · Google Local Guide
